How to Deal With Disappointed Exam Results

Exam results can be a great time to reflect on what you’ve learned, and how you can improve, but they can also be a source of anxiety or disappointment. You might be feeling disappointed if you didn’t do as well as you wanted to, or if you weren’t accepted at your firm choice university after doing A Levels (everyone in the UK gets their results on the same day – 18th August this year!)

If you’re disappointed with your results, it can help to find a healthy way to think about them rather than just getting bitter. Try not to get caught up in the emotions – it’s important to recognise that you did the best you could, and that there’s likely a lot of other factors involved, including luck!

USMLE results are available on the ECFMG website within four weeks of your test date. Scores are reported as pass/fail on a three-digit scale. To ensure that your score and descriptive feedback accurately represent the performance you achieved on the division, NCARB staff review your performance for all questions in each examination administration.

A student’s course recommendation for their writing course will be displayed on their Test and Score Report. This will appear for students who took the placement exam by June 11.
